May 2012 Trail Tails
My heartfelt thanks to all the helped make our Obstacle Challenge
a success. If you see any of these people be sure and thank them, they make it all possible: .Kecia Angelo, Sunny Diver,
Lauren Merchant,Simon Mussler, Mona Eides,Erica Devore, Barbara Bumgardner, Charlotte, Conklin, Aggie Myosky, Jeanne
Moore and Bill and Kathy Cross.
They were judges, registration crew, set up and take down crew, those
that supplied some of the obstacles, checked coggins, shuffled the score sheets to the judges, tended the gate and the water
hose, designed the forms and saw that we had water and snacks for all the hard work. We had many compliments about
how well things ran and how much fun they had.
Our first place winner was Donna Davis, 2nd Pl- Henry Watson, 3rd
Pl was Jim Davis, but he had to do an extra obstacle because it was a tie with Debbie Russell. He got the better score.
With
all the fun behind, we look to our meeting on Thursday. It is important that you attend. Our topics for discussion
will be:
- What will next year bring
- Who will lead us
- What direction should we turn?

Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st. Ericka DeVore is hosting
this event to benefit horse rescues. Join the fun as you hunt for Easter eggs (no dismounting necessary!).

At Caloosa Park, the equestrian
trail additions that several of you have worked hard on to flag and GPS, have been APPROVED and work effort to mow and mark
will start in April.
Our next club meeting will be on April 5th. Guest
speaker will be confirmed and posted in a few days.

News - Instead of an elected president this year, we will be asking members to choose a month and be the monthly chairperson.
This will include helping plan the speaker for the monthly meetings, possibly lead a club trail ride and write the president's
message (someone else can write if you don't feel you are a good writer). We have lots of people who can help find the
right speaker, if you can just provide the topic. Please e-mail the club at caloosasaddleclub@caloosasaddleclub.com if you would like to take a month. This will be a way for members to get involved and take it a month at a time. |
